Requirements
- Deep understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, REST, RPC and GraphQL API design, network optimization, and security principles (CORS, CSRF, XSS);
- 5+ years of experience in backend development with PHP (preferably 8+), using modern frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony;
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and clean architecture design;
- 3+ years of experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and analytical systems such as ClickHouse, including complex query optimization, indexing, and transaction management;
- Proficiency with Kafka and event-driven architecture, including designing and maintaining data pipelines and asynchronous communication between services;
- Understanding of caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached) and performance optimization strategies;
- Hands-on experience designing scalable systems with modular or microservice architecture;
- Experience developing and maintaining GraphQL servers on PHP stack (e.g. Lighthouse, custom implementations, or integrations with Laravel/Symfony);
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest), and experience setting up automated testing pipelines;
- Practical experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions), and version control systems (Git);
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization flows (JWT, OAuth2, SSO);
- Experience with background job processing (queues, schedulers) and asynchronous task execution;
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with proven experience mentoring developers.

Key responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the company’s backend technology stack and system architecture;
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of backend systems;
- Oversee code quality, enforce best practices, and ensure compliance with modern backend development methodologies;
- Define and document development regulations, coding standards, and technical requirements for backend teams;
- Conduct technical audits of projects to assess architecture quality, performance, and compliance with company standards;
- Conduct code reviews and provide ongoing mentorship to backend developers;
- Serve as the main technical reference for the backend team, offering both technical and organizational guidance;
- Coordinate architectural decisions with other Tech Leads and the Platform Team;
- Plan and track backend tasks to ensure efficient workload distribution and timely delivery;
- Participate in hiring processes, interview candidates, and assess their technical expertise;
- Support continuous team growth through mentoring, feedback, and knowledge sharing.

Desirable
- Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring balanced workloads and maintaining delivery consistency within the team;
- Experience applying AI-based solutions to improve development workflows, automate processes, or analyze code and metrics;
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible);
- Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Sentry);
- Familiarity with Agile-like methodologies and collaboration in cross-functional environments;
- Experience designing and maintaining high-load, distributed, or mission-critical systems.
