Requirements
- Mandatory hands-on engineering background: ability to write, review, and ship production-grade backend code;
- 5+ years backend engineering in modern languages (preferably Python or similar);
- Proven experience building trading, market-making, or hedging systems (crypto or traditional markets);
- Strong understanding of order books, execution flows, slippage, margin models, perpetual futures, funding, liquidation logic;
- Expertise in designing high-load, real-time distributed systems and event-driven architectures;
- Solid knowledge of databases, caching, messaging systems, and cloud environments;
- Strong ownership and ability to make clear decisions under uncertainty;
- Ability to lead engineers while staying deeply hands-on;
- Clear communication with product, trading, quant, and risk teams.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and hands-on development of trading, hedging, and risk-monitoring modules (with a focus on digital asset/crypto markets);
- Build and maintain real-time trading infrastructure: market data ingestion, execution flows, OMS/EMS logic, monitoring and alerting;
- Implement stable integrations with exchanges (REST/WebSocket), including reconnect logic, data validation, throttling, and reliability mechanisms;
- Develop core risk controls: positions, PnL, exposure limits, margin/funding monitoring, killswitch and guardrail logic;
- Guide and mentor the engineering team while actively contributing to architecture and codebase.

Desirable
- Python (Asyncio, FastAPI) and/or Node.js/TypeScript background;
- Experience with derivatives, delta-neutral hedging, or options risk;
- Familiarity with Kafka/PubSub, Kubernetes, BigQuery, observability stacks;
- Understanding of financial accounting/ledger models (double-entry, balances, reconciliation).
